WiseReviews helps Shopify merchants import product reviews from marketplaces such as Amazon,
AliExpress, Etsy, and eBay, collect new reviews from their customers, and display them on their storefront
through customizable review widgets. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use,
and share personal information when you install or use our application.
Personal Information We Collect
When you install and use WiseReviews, we may collect the following types of information:
Shopify store data: Your store name, domain, product catalog, and configuration
details necessary to operate the app.
Merchant account information: Your name and email address associated with your
Shopify account.
Review data: Reviewer names, email addresses, ratings, review text, and any photos
or videos attached to reviews — whether imported from external marketplaces, uploaded via CSV, or
submitted by your customers through our review forms.
Customer order data: Customer names, email addresses, and purchased items, used
solely to send review request emails on your behalf.
Visitor information: IP addresses, browser type, cookies, and log files collected
automatically when accessing our service or submitting a review.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the WiseReviews service, including importing reviews
from marketplaces and displaying them in review widgets on your storefront.
Send review request emails to your customers after a purchase, on your behalf.
Power AI-assisted features such as suggested review replies, review translation, and spam
detection. Review content may be processed by our AI service providers for these purposes.
Publish aggregated review statistics (such as review counts and average ratings) to your store's
metafields so they can be displayed by your theme.
Improve, personalize, and expand the functionality of our application.
Monitor and analyze usage trends to enhance the user experience.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. We may share
information only in the following circumstances:
With service providers that help us operate the app, such as cloud hosting, media storage for
review photos and videos, email delivery, and AI processing. These providers only access the
information needed to perform their services.
To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes.
To respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
To protect and defend our rights, property, or the safety of our users.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as you use WiseReviews. When you uninstall the app, your
reviews are immediately unpublished and your data is retained for 90 days so that
everything is restored if you reinstall. We notify you by email before this period ends, after which
your products, reviews, customer information, and review request data are permanently deleted.
We also honor data deletion requests received through Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks, in
accordance with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR and CCPA).
